On a fresh install of 13.04 with nothing extra installed: Brand new razor mouse moves but there is no effect when i click on some windows. Keyboard confirms that KDE is not frozen. Xev shows no output when i try and click where nothing happens. I have tried other mice all with the same issue. nothing is dmesg. This issue occurs right away and also shows up during the installer live cd process.

Unusual. Does the mouse work on another system? It could be a fault with the mouse not sending the clicks to the system, particularly if all windows are affected. If only some windows are affected, is there anything special / peculiar about them? (eg: only Gtk+ applications are affected).

Try reinstalling your mouse driver

The mouse driver ships with the kernel in almost all cases ...

You could try in a non-KDE environment, but it sounds more like a kernel and/or distro issue than a KDE one. Does the mouse work on a different computer, maybe ona Windows one?

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

google for "razer mouse click" - it's a common issue with this hardware.

Hi,
This sounds more like a hardware issue.
Possibly a broken or dirty contact in the mouse.
Have you tried another mouse?
