Can't change wallpaper & Plasma Shell Error using SolydK 64bit Debian on dual displays. And reverts back to this no matter what wallpaper I apply. And have been getting intermittent Shell-plasma Seg. 11 faults on shutdown or logoff.
No debug info as not sure which package to install. Says dbg not installed but confused as synaptic doesn't show specifically dbg but a huge list of debuggers for all kinds of apps and such. Which one do we install for plasma-shell debugging?
And has anyone else had issues with plasma-shell seg. 11 faults or issues of changed wallpaper not sticking since the Sept. upgrade. As my wallpapers are in /home/pictures/wallpaper folder.
And none of these issues until after the upgrade. Found an opensuse forum user complaint of same issue. Any insights or help to resolve. As how do I clean or reset the default config files for these settings? .
Please try to reproduce under a new user. Also, please make sure all KDE and Qt packages are updated to their latest versions, and are all sourced from the same repository.
Never solved it so rolled back to Sept. 1st backup and applied the upgrade pack. Everything working well and no issues.
The only thing different was I didn't install Basket notes running in system tray. And re-thinking I didn't start to have the issue until after installing basket notes before. Since it is been abandoned and received no love since 2010 me thinks it's something in the older code. And zero wallpaper or plasma-shell errors since. .
