Disable File Dialogs opening up same size as Application

Is there any setting to disable dialogs from opening up full size of application?
As find that annoying and hiding content. And full size end up with text entry at the bottom of screen and list of files way at the top with a lot of blank space between the two making for more mouse & eye movement.

Sometimes I need to see contents to figure out when creating or saving what to call a file or folder and being closer easier to make visual connections.As a full size dialog defeats that continuity.
I can resize by hand and they remember until I start app again then back to full size dialog.

And wondering if there was a setting to make dialogs more classic size that we are use to?
As sure can't go through all my apps dialogs and set them to remember size and position by hand as that is a daunting task.

Any help with this issue is appreciated.

is it for all dialogs? or just some, say file open? or configure?

Yes seems there were many for different apps and multiple ones for Dolphin.
So just deleted them and started over. Now they are just opening up size need to display info.

Thanks for the pointer and yep checked but not seeing anything showing placement or geometry parameters for app like dolphin.
