Main menu copy

Wed Feb 05, 2014 11:09 pm
Hi,

I have 2 PCs with KDE 4.11.3.
On one PC, I have configured the KDE main menu with a personnalized tree structure. Now, I would like to copy this menu tree structure on my 2d PC. But I can't find the configuration file where this main menu is defined.

Could you please help me to do it ?

Thank you

Have a look at your ~/.config/menus/ folder, there should be a file called "applications-kmenuedit.menu"

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

That's right !
The menu structure is in this "applications-kmenuedit.menu" file, but not the menu item names. The menu items are described in files in the ~/.local/share/applications folder.
That's why I did not found it !

Thank you very much for your help
