I am using Linux mint 16 with KDE and i've had a few bugs, one of them i was able to solve which was font used to look really odd in quite a few programs and was fixed by disabling font hinting. However, that did not solve an issue, in a few programs ( the same ones that font used to look odd) whenever i use select all, it doesn't actually select all text although i am able to copy all of it, but not edit when all is selected. Any ideas how to fix this?

Which applications are you experiencing this problem with, and in which particular parts of them?

Applications i have this issue usually is Google Chrome or Chromium ( both i get the same issue) address bar and Xchat chat bar, there are others that this happens as well but since i do not use them much i am not too sure right now.

I'm afraid both XChat and Chromium / Google Chrome are non-KDE applications - so their select all functions would experience very little / no influence from KDE. I'd suggest reporting the problem to their respective developers instead as they'll likely know more about potential causes.

I found a fix for this even though it is not KDE, but for anyone who gets this issue, it seems to be font related, i changed my font to Arial (MS version) on GTK and its fixed!
