Hi
I am pretty new to linux in general. I am running Mandriva 2009 with KDE 4.2. So far it seems good, but there is one feature that really annoys me, the taskswitcher that activates when I move the mouse to the upper right corner. I seem to accidentally hit it each and every time I try to close a program. Is it possible to deactivate it?

Seems like this is the "Present Windows" effect. Click on the window icon > "Configure Window Behavior... > Desktop Effects > All Effects and then deactivate Present Windows or change the mouse gesture for it, respectively.

No, it doesn't seem like that's it, the present windows option is already disabled

Perhaps it is another effect. Are the Desktop Effects enabled? Not that this comes from another window manager.

He's referring to Plasma's toolbox, not the KWin active screen edges.

Yes it's Plasma, the desktop effects aren't enabled

Geez! I wrote a post about the Plasma toolbox but deleted it immediately because I thought I had misunderstood the question. It went something like this:
Yes. ![]() Another way is to switch Desktop Activity type (in the Desktop Settings) to a containment without the toolbox. I don't know if Mandriva ships such a containment (like openSUSE) by default though.
