KDM no longer can change themes.

Wed Apr 23, 2014 9:14 pm
Running SolydXK KDE debian testing 4.12.4 open drivers. Replied there and other's have issue with it also.
Tried even running sudo systemsettings and change theme still no joy.

Just taking a chance someone here know if this is a KDE bug issue? As see a couple of Debian bugs listing it.
And hope someone can point to a .config file to check or modify to get changing themes back.

Thanks as any insights or help is appreciated.

I would suggest checking /etc/kdmrc and /etc/kde4/ for details.

Started looking around but scratching my head.
In etc/kde4/kdm the kdmrc file is showing.

Code: Select all
Theme=/usr/share/kde4/apps/kdm/themes/debian_dreams2_kdm
UseBackground=true

Which is the KDM theme I chose. So can't figure out why it's stuck with default SolydK?

I can change themes in SolydK64, but none showed the correct background (just black).

Wasn't development stopped on KDM?

Hi. Schoelje posted in SolydXK forum about the issue but confused on the state of KDM and good question about whether it still being developed. Seems something broke with the April update pack.

And trying to determine if it's indeed a KDE or Debian issue?

That indeed appears to be correct. Please note that the KDE default theme is actually Elarun - so it is quite possible that a SolyDK modification is the cause of this issue.
