I'm running Kubuntu 14.04 and am trying to connect my BT headset. I can connect them just fine, but when it comes to playback the profile defaults to Telephony Duplex (HSP). I don't mind the default, since changing it should be easy enough...except I cannot change it. I tried veromix, but I couldn't set the profile to "a2dp"
I tried Audio and Video Settings, but still no luck. I tried running
And got "Failure: Input/Output error" If I run that for hsp instead my BT headset turns on. Any ideas on how to debug? Many thanks! |

So, in running this experiment I discovered my connection is OK, I think. If I kill pulseaudio and restart it and then reconnect my headset, I can apparently switch to a2dp and there's no error. So the connection seems to work fine...
To make sure I wasn't paranoid, I then restarted pulseaudio and got the same error (I wasn't able to connect to a2dp). Basically, if pulseaudio restarts when my BT headset is already connected then I can't reconnect to a2dp. Not sure what set it off in the first place, but I think it's OK now. Thanks! |
