Hi all, semi noob question so please bear with me... I tried using Wine to play an ancient Atari game (IKR) and forgot to tell it to run in a window, now my resolution is stuck in 640x480 (making changing settings a nightmare as things are off the screen). and it won't change back to standard resolution... I've tried several basic things so far to no avail, it's ignoring all settings changes.
I'm using Mageia 4 KDE with search and launch desktop on a Toshiba Tecra a9 laptop and am generally very happy with it, but slightly hopeless with codes and editing system files, so far. Hope you can help with my idiot error, many thanks, Rick.

ensure "xrandr" is installed and (in konsole) enter:
Code: Select all
xrandr $(xrandr -q | grep " primary" | cut -d" " -f1) --auto

instead of the "$(xrandr -q | grep " primary" | cut -d" " -f1)" stuff you can also select the proper display - "xrandr -q" will list them all.

Code: Select all
kcmshell4 kscreen

Should open the screen config kcm (also to be found in "systemsettings") where you should be able to alter the resolution with a GUI.
