I know it's really the good place to talk about this problem but I try.... when I start the icewm manager in my second screen (KDE 4.2 on the first screen) the font of application launch in icewm are really little, unreadable...
If icewm is launch as primary wm all is Ok... it's only when I use kde4 + icewm ....
Have you any idea about this ?

Yes, this is multi-monitor by using multiple X "screens".

Now the only problem is that I have 1680x1050 LCD as my main display and 1920x1080 TV as the secondary display. Now the plasma on my main display somehow thinks that the display is 1920x1080 (see pic: http://kuvaton.com/k/hwt.png ) and puts the main panel "under" the display. Any ideas?

That is probably a bug. Can you reproduce on Trunk?

I updated my test environment to kde 4.3 beta2 (http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-4.2.90) and the behaviour is the same.

I have nvidia as the the display driver (and using nvidia-settings to set up the displays).

There have been no changes as far as I am aware with regards to Multi Head at this time. Only Xinerama, MergedFB, et. al are supported currently since other modes are unmaintained.

But doesn't this thing when using another WM (icewm) on the other screen kind of solve this thing on the KDE part? :

The only thing now is that plasma thinks that the screen larger. Other windows for example when maximising maximise the right way and do not "go over" the display borders. Or is this still the same old "not supported" -thing?

That is a workaround to the issue. True multihead would involve KWin automatically managing extra screens, and setting the mouse cursor. It would also involve Plasma automatically adding a containment for that screen.

This appears to be a WONTFIX issue. I have been happily using 3.x on two monitors for years, and have no taste for workarounds involving other wm's. If KDE isn't going to support this simple thing in favor of maximum eyecandy, then it's no longer the desktop environment for me.

One of two things will now happen:

1) This will get changed after all. Yay!

2) 3.5.x will be deprecated. When that happens, I will no longer be a KDE user.

It is NOT a WONTFIX. It is a WEDONTHAVEADEVELOPERTOMAINTAINIT issue. If someone that actually uses multiple X screens provides patches to the various KDE components that require it they will be applied.

I for one would very much like it. Just moved my primary box to 4.3.2, and finally liked KDE!
Immediately after doing this to my secondary box, the 'Display' settings somehow did not allow me to NOT 'mirror' the two display, like what I used to do in Gnome.
Could this be true? by now everyone here has two monitors, and a system that doesn't allow to show two different contents in these two screens, is really not 'up to date'. I am not a developer, but if anyone could give me a hint on what to do, I'd like to try that.
Otherwise all that beauty of KDE 4.3.X will be wasted. And not only to me.
If the desktop paradigm of KDE is developed without anyone of the developers using multiple desktop, it will surely go into a wrong direction.

Here, specifically, I run off a loptop, 1024x768, 60 Hz, with a second monitor 1600x1200, 85 Hz. The laptop screen is placed below the larger screen, and handles Thunderbird.
