When moving a window with a keyboard (through corresponding window shortcut) it's moving quite slowly when you hold the directional buttons. Is there a way to configure the pace of such moving? On one hand there should be a precise way to position it, so it shouldn't move too far if you press the directional button once. But on the other hand dragging across the whole screen shouldn't take too long either. May be there are some modifiers which make it move faster (long range moving) while regular directional button makes it move slower (precise positioning)? If there is no such feature, I can file a feature request (I guess for Kwin?).
Thanks. |

Thanks, that's close to what I need! However there are a few issues with it. Firstly, when that feature is enabled it works a bit weirdly for me. If I keep holding some numpad arrow button, the pointer accelerates to maximum speed and starts moving with it, but after a few moments the speed drops down to minimal again and the cycle repeats, i.e. it starts accelerating again, which makes an erratic movement. I guess it's a bug? A second issue - I'm not sure how to enable / disable that feature quickly. Using Numlock doesn't disable it for example, and sometimes I like to use the numpad buttons for the calculator. Is there some trigger combination for that behavior? Or may be some command which I can assign a global shortcut? |

depending on your intention, check the "pack window" shortcuts.
