I have Fedora 20 with Gnome DE. Gnome was default. Then I installed KDE and then I tried to log in to KDE. The screen goes off, then it says something like "starting fedora with linux.... heisenbug" (same way it says when fedora is trying to start), then again goes blank and returns to log in screen.

I tried this command:

systemctl enable gdm.service

I don't know what that command means, but I got it in a forum, and that made no difference.

I wanted to see how it goes with a different Desktop, so I installed "Sugar Desktop Environment" and it works fine, but still same problem with KDE.

I checked using the command :

rpm -qa|grep kde

a) startkde requires an X11 session - you cannot (easily) start it from VT1, but will at elast have to start X11 (for your user) and "export DISPLAY=:0"

b) there're (at least) two corrup libraries on the system (but probably far more)

xterm: error while loading shared libraries: /lib64/libXaw.so.7: file too short
klauncher: error while loading shared libraries: /lib64/libHUpnp.so.1: file too short

This either means your HDD is broken, your RAM is broken, a filesystem error or (most likely) some update process failed - in any case, a garbled system installation.
Consider forcefully updating all packages (maybe try with libXaw[3d] first and see whether starting xterm still produces that very error to ensure this can fix your issue)

This must be the case. This PC has dual boot and Win 8.1 workd fine and even within fedora 20, Gnome and sugar works fine.
And I do remember that it returned some kind of error during update process regarding kde that mirror not available (or not responding), but I cancelled it then. That must be the reason.

Is there any way using which we can easily "Force update" packages related to KDE. I use yum as package manager in fedora. Is there any command / easy method?

Sorry, not on fedora/rpm based distro - never used yum.
Check "man yum" - I'm pretty sure switches for full update and force will exist - but rather try with a known broken package first to ensure you're not updating a good file with junk from a broken server.

I am going to download and re install my OS soon. It must be the package that got corrupted during install.
