update: just a note that afaik the ability to concurrently run these 2 versions of KDE is unique to openSUSE and only available because of the awesome work of wolfie323. Also its 14.4.x in the repos not 14.2 |

Well, not quite. There is _no_ 14.4.x, you probably mean 4.14.x which is shipped with openSUSE 13.2... ![]() But the KDE:Current repo does indeed contain 14.12.0 now, unfortunately that's not available (yet?) for 13.2, only 12.3 (which will be removed soon as it is out of support) and 13.1. I have no idea about the future plans regarding this repo though (i.e. whether they will publish it for 13.2 too), maybe you should better ask on the opensuse-kde mailinglist. http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-kde/ You can post there without subscribing too, just send a mail to opensuse-kde@opensuse.org . @google01103: 14.12.0 mostly contains updates for KDE4 applications. It does include some KF5 applications as well (which had their first release), which replace the KDE4 version. In the repo those are named kmix5 e.g., whereas the KDE4 version (kmix in this case) is still available, but just not updated. So you can choose whether you want to use the KDE4 or KF5 version of those apps. In my repo I do track those stable KF5 releases where available, so you can of course also use my packages if you want to keep the KDE4 versions as well. PS: Oops, I just noticed that KDE:Current does not contain any KF5 versions. I obviously confused this with KDE:Distro:Factory... KDE:Current still contains the last KDE4 version (4.14.3) of those applications although the packages bear the version number 14.12.0 At least some of the KF5 applications released with 14.12.0 are available in the KDE:Frameworks5 repo though: kmix5, kate5 and kwrite5. You'll notice that they have a version number of 14.12.0 instead of 5.x.y... ![]() |

This repo doesn't exist at all. Where do you have that from? From the looks of the URL, this is completely outdated information from (many) years ago when KDE4 was new. There is no need to add any repo to get KDE 14.12.x on openSUSE 13.2 anyway. You get it as official update via the standard update repo anyway.
There is no, and never was, a "KDE14:/Factory/Desktop/" repository... And there is no "KDE14" anyway. |
