Hi,
I am running OpenBSD 5.6 amd64 in a VMWare box. I installed kde4-4.13.3.tgz from the packages for 5.6 amd64. Everything is booting alright if I put
However once I am logged in and at the KDE4 desktop, when I try to assign shortcuts to start programs the shortcut is not persistent. For Example: I will open the KDE Menu Editor and navigate to the Konsole (Terminal) and then select the Advanced tab and set the Current Shortcut Key to
But when I save the settings and close the KDE Menu Editor the shortcut is not applied and navigating back to the setting shows that is reset back None. Does anyone know how to set this to be persistent, either in a .conf file or running KDM with some flags? Any assistance is greatly appreciated ![]() |

You likely lack write permissions on ~/.kde/share/config/khotkeysrc
Also the menuedit config is "just" a frontend for khotkeys, the hotkey ded module must be loaded and running ("kcmshell4 kded", "Input actions" in the lower section) and the menuedit section in the hotkeys config enabled ("kcmshell4 khotkeys") |

It seems as though a lot more than just the hotkeys module is not running after doing a bit of research for the kcmshell4, kded and input actions modules you listed. A lot of the modules indicate they are not running ![]() Thanks for your reply ![]() |
