How to add scangearmp to menu

Sun Mar 22, 2015 11:56 pm
I can execute scangearmp from the command line, but I can't seem to find it in usr/share/applications or can add it to the desktop with a kate edit like I can with xfce or cinnamon interface. How do I need to add to desktop and to menu and in applications folder? Thanks.

the binary would normally be in /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin, to find the location use the command "which" in Konsole
Code: Select all
which scangearamp

if you want to add it to the app launcher right click -> Edit Applications, the will start the KDE Menu Editor

as to why it is not automatically in the menu I would suspect something to do with how it was packaged

OpenSuse Leap 42.1 x64, Plasma 5.x

thank you. I'll check that out. I'm sticking to all the debian derivatives to learn the command lines. It's easier in Ubuntu, Mint and Xfce.
