I am looking at my Desktop/Workspace and wondering why links, directories (for example) are being associated with a '.sub' icon? Does this mean 'subtitle'?
Associating a link with this kind of a directory image seems to make no sense. As well, the 'Inode/Directory' association gives '*.srt' as its associated file-type. ? How can I fix this so that more appropriate icons are displayed? Some time ago, I did install an editor for .srt (movie subtitle) files so ... could this have caused a file-association accident, that led to this? I'd like to 'put it right' again, but have no record of what the defaults might have been, before this happened.

This works, for the Filename Pattern(s):
I posted after I changed it to this ... and, nothing happened. Upon the next reboot, however, I had the file-folder icon, just as I had selected for a 'Directory'. The .srt icon was gone. The Edit File Type function was confusing me with the term 'Inode'. But, at least for this use, it's just a directory and responds to the same syntax as used in other operating systems, when one wants a listing of just directories. Once getting over the terminology, it's not as complicated as i thought it might be. What happened to KDE so that directories began to be identified as .srt files? ![]()
