KDE4: How can I cascade windows?

Tue Nov 11, 2008 2:01 pm
In KDE3, I used to be able to cascade all the windows on my desktop by right-clicking on the background and selecting "cascade windows." I cannot find any way to do this with KDE4. Is there a way that I'm missing? If not, is this a feature that might be planned for v.4.2?

This is a pretty important feature for me, as I have a script that opens up 24 windows, and in order to work within all these windows I need to be able to arrange them neatly.

1) run Compiz
2) add to the bugzilla wishlist under Kwin
3) will the "destop grid" of Kwin stisfy?

Seems that this is a list of alternatives and not a step-by-step instruction to make it work.

Click in the very top left corner of any window > configure window behavior >>> in the left pane click advanced >>> placement field.

You can also run:

Code: Select all
qdbus org.kde.kwin /KWin org.kde.KWin.cascadeDesktop
