Hi,
I'm desperately try to change the button order of the kde widgets (yeah, you might say, that isn't important, but well, it's a hassle when migrating to kde from gnome), and I'm almost done, only one single detail doesn't work. What I have done so far is changing the breeze theme to use `gtkButtonOrder=true` and changed `gtk-alternative-button-order` from `1` to `0` (the vanilla gnome gtk setting I'm used to) in `~/.config/gtkrc-2.0`. Unfortunately the latter doesn't persist and the file is overriden everytime I restart KDE (the comment in the file doesn't work, it only inhibits the color overrides). Also, I don't get where the environment variable `GTK2_RC_FILES` is set to add another file to this env variable. Can anybody help and tell me, if and how I can tell KDE to not override my `~/.config/gtkrc-2.0` or where the env variable is set? Thanks ![]() |

Okay, I managed to solve a part of the problem, by simply write-protect the file `~/.config/gtkrc-2.0`, but unfortunately this only works for Qt4 applications like dolphin, whereas kate still shows the "wrong" button order. It seems like the settings `gtkButtonsOrder=true` setting in `/usr/share/QtCurve/Breeze.qtcurve` doesn't have any influence on Qt5 apps. Is this correct behaviour, because perhaps this setting is deprecated or is it a bug and I can add it to a bug tracker. Unfortunately I couldn't neither find a docu of the theme options nor a dedicated bug tracker. Can someone help me? Thanks

You should first figure whether Qt5 clients use QtCurve at all and not Breeze or even the Fusion style.
QtCurve should have a setting for this (and the QtCurve config GUI should do) but neither Breeze nor Fusion have. To figure the style of a Qt5 application:
third party style plugins (like QtCurve or Breeze) should show up 2 times trailing the output. |
