Hi everyone,
I have a problem with kubuntu 15.04. I encounter the following problem:
After i login i get the the system settings screen saying "System Settings was unable to find any views and hence has nothing to display". Then when i press the ok button the system settings closes leaving a black screen with only the pointer. Before i had this problem, the kde gui freezed every time after about 15 mins of use and i had to shutdown using the hardware button. Can someone help me ?

Thanks for the replay
p.s. sorry for my poor english

Very most likely some update/upgrade process went wrong (eg. when you pressed the HW power button - stupid idea, do never do that easily. First try to access the system from VT1 or via ssh)

=> force an update, you've probably some broken files.
In doubt: press "ctrl+alt+f2", login, run "apt-get update; apt-get upgrade" and hoe for the best.

Please do not go around making assumptions about people in order to say they are doing something stupid.

Maybe try to read my post again:

a) I did *not* "assume" that the OP did hard power downs, he explicitly stated that
b) I did assume that those hard power downs might have interrupted an update process
c) I did *not* assume that to call some action stupid, but to suggest why things are broken and to support the proposed solution attempt
d) I do nowhere "go around" by this, this was a direct answer to a particular problem - maybe you could at least try to proof such claim of a pattern
e) powering down the system hard *is* *in generl* a stupid idea - and only the last of all options.

It's btw. pretty ironic that you did an off topic post out of the void where you misread my post to make false assumptions on what I said why - apparently in order to trying to lecture me to not assume things to call peoples actions stupid... seriously.
