This window pops up after each startup:
![]() Holding the mouse over "Folder Watch Limit" reveals the tooltip "Click to edit org.kde.baloo.filewatch.raiselimit", so this might be related to baloo. I tried changing the contents of /proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_watches but it gets reset to 8192 after a reboot. What else could I try? |

/proc is a pseudo filesystem, it only exists during runtime.
To control the global max_user_watches /etc/sysctl.d/50-max_user_watches.conf
and file a bug against baloo - this is completely insane. seriously. I assume it also adds a polkit rule somewhere that allows to raise the limit for the particular process, but watching more than 8k dirs is insane. |
