xscreensaver integration in KDE4

Wed Nov 12, 2008 9:26 pm
Hello,

I would like to use xscreensaver instead of kscreensaver in KDE4.1

I have implemented most of the necessary changes (according to the xscreensaver docs) but I am having trouble configuring the "lock session" buttons/hotkeys to call xscreensaver instead of kscreensaver. According to the xscreensaver documentation:

Code: Select all
Replace the file /usr/bin/kdesktop_lock (or possibly /usr/kde/3.5/bin/kdesktop_lock) with these two lines:

      #!/bin/sh
      xscreensaver-command -lock

However, in KDE4 the kdesktop_lock does not exist anymore. What replaces it, and how can it be changed to call xscreensaver-command -lock?

Thanks.

I believe it is called krunner_lock now. However they moved it. It is now located here on my machine: /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/krunner_lock
