Vertical panel + systray and the icons are HUGE.

use the quicklaunch widget to achieve that

if you tell me how do I add notifications, kmix, device notifier, pidgin and kmail task bar icon to the quicklauncher so that they function the same as in the task bar. Example kmail shows the unread post count in the icon and pidgin interactive task bar icon blinks when I recieve a message. |

sorry quicklaunch is a container for widgets and you're interested in the system tray - sometimes I type faster then I comprehend, apologies
changing the width of the panel will do the following, which I think is what you want ![]() click on the cashew on the end of the panel and drag the "Height" button that appears (image is from a horizontal panel) ![]() |
