I have a fresh install of kubuntu 15.10. I am new to kubuntu and linux in general, so I dont know if I am doing something wrong. So my problem is that my widgets disappear each time I reboot my computer or when I switch activities using meta+tab. The only way that I now off for the widgets to appear again is for me to right click on the desktop and click the option add widget. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? Thank you

From the General Troubleshooting: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=38828
With the Arch Linux (*) the widgets are staying after reboot or/and activity change. ![]() (*) Qt: 5.5.1 KDE Frameworks: 5.15.0 KDE Plasma 5.4.2 |

So, I created a new user, and everything was working fine, until I selected "unify outputs" (I have two monitors, my pc monitor and my TV) at display and monitor settings. Now the same thing happens, each I time I switch activities the widgets are gone

Sounds as if plasmashell creates two desktop windows (as you've two screens) which overlay each other (because the output is congruent) and change stack position "randomly" with activation (timings) - plasmashell should likely avoid any occlusion of its desktop containments (partial output overlay is possible as well) => file a bug and get rid of the unwanted desktop containment.

In my case I had to disable restoring the session and widgets worked (almost, will make another thread) fine after reboot.
