Kubuntu 15.10 widgets disappear(on boot and activity change)

theodorlorentziadis Registered Member Posts 7 Karma 0	Kubuntu 15.10 widgets disappear(on boot and activity change) Thu Oct 29, 2015 9:21 am I have a fresh install of kubuntu 15.10. I am new to kubuntu and linux in general, so I dont know if I am doing something wrong. So my problem is that my widgets disappear each time I reboot my computer or when I switch activities using meta+tab. The only way that I now off for the widgets to appear again is for me to right click on the desktop and click the option add widget. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? Thank you

The easiest way is to create a new user. For example, if you find that your desktop crashes every time you log in: Create a new user. You can do it with the KUser application or in the command line. Log in using the new user. Do you experience the same problem (desktop crashing) here as well? With the Arch Linux () the widgets are staying after reboot or/and activity change. Now the same thing happens, each I time I switch activities the widgets are gone
luebking Karma 0	Re: Kubuntu 15.10 widgets disappear(on boot and activity cha Fri Oct 30, 2015 9:13 am Sounds as if plasmashell creates two desktop windows (as you've two screens) which overlay each other (because the output is congruent) and change stack position "randomly" with activation (timings) - plasmashell should likely avoid any occlusion of its desktop containments (partial output overlay is possible as well) => file a bug and get rid of the unwanted desktop containment.
