Running Plasma 5.4.3 on a fully updated Arch Linux laptop, I added accounts for my family members using systemsettings5's user manager.
All went well so far, and all users are able to login. However, one user - let's call it bbb - is missing from the user manager's list, so I'm not able to edit its settings. As far as I can tell, there's nothing special about it. My new users are listed in /etc/passwd as:
Any way to sync the user list in Plasma's user manager or any other hints? TIA Heinz |

is that the actual data in the passwd file as 4th field should be primary group id, usually 100 (at least for me)
could the entry pre or post that user be malformed causing that user to not be seen? is there anything strange in the user name field? afaik Kuser accesses the passwd file, and we are talking Kuser correct? |

If there's a group for the user id, that's usually te users primary group (check "groups")
I suspect "invalid" chars in the user name, but that's only a wild guess (since "bbb" isn't the actual user) @kramskigrote, the username must match the regexp
and must *not* be > 32 chars (nevertheless, such user should not be added by kuser and still be presented for fixing) |

Thanks to all, but it's all standard, short ASCII names, also before and after.
I'm talking about System Settings / Personalization / Account Details / User Manager, see this screenshot. In KUser, all looks well, see this other screenshot. Regards, Heinz |

there a bug reported https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336994 but not confirmed
like in the bug report does the user show if logged in as the user? |

Yes, indeed. If I login as 'missing' user bbb, the user list is complete, showing user bbb as the first item.
Will add this to the bug report. |
