Since I upgrade the opensuse 13.2 to leap, which has plasma, dropbox tray doesn't appear.
And some other tray icons stopped working as well. Any fix? |

There also should be a FDO systray wrapper in recent plasmashell version (though could be only in upcoming 5.5) |

This is installed by default in openSUSE Leap 42.1. But for some reason, dropbox (and other applications, Pidgin e.g.) only shows an empty (transparent) icon. The same works fine in 13.2 here (with the same Plasma version), I have no idea what causes this yet. http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=953954 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=955895 Somehow those applications seem to actually draw an empty icon when run in Plasma5... The icons should be fully functional otherwise though, e.g. you can right-click on the empty space and get the context menu. What other icons exactly stopped working as well? Depending on the application it might be possible to make it use the new system tray standard (SNI) natively, which should work then. But there is also a (unrelated) bug in Plasma's system tray or Qt5 that causes random icons/widgets to disappear. See https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352580 and https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352055 . |

My dropbox tray icon did appear once, although it was an ugly indiscernible small icon. Now it's completely gone forever. I've already switched to XFCE on my other linux distro due to all kinds of weird problems with plasma. Opensuse fares better with it but these unsolvable tray icons missing problems...
By the time I am posting, I just noticed that stardict also can not have a tray icon. |
