How to adjust mouse sensitivity?

Fri Nov 27, 2015 1:13 pm
I tried the options under System Settings -> Mouse -> Advanced but they seem to have no effect. I also tried changing "Device Accel Constant Deceleration" with xinput but it appears there is no such attribute:
Code: Select all
$ xinput --list-props "Logitech Performance MX"
Device 'Logitech Performance MX':
   Device Enabled (138):   1
   Coordinate Transformation Matrix (140):   1.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 0.000000, 1.000000
   libinput Accel Speed (275):   0.000000
libinput Accel Speed Default (276):   0.000000
   libinput Accel Profiles Available (277):   1, 1
   libinput Accel Profile Enabled (278):   1, 0
libinput Accel Profile Enabled Default (279):   1, 0
libinput Natural Scrolling Enabled (272):   0
libinput Natural Scrolling Enabled Default (273):   0
libinput Send Events Modes Available (256):   1, 0
libinput Send Events Mode Enabled (257):   0, 0
libinput Send Events Mode Enabled Default (258):   0, 0
libinput Left Handed Enabled (280):   0
libinput Left Handed Enabled Default (281):   0
   libinput Scroll Methods Available (282):   0, 0, 1
   libinput Scroll Method Enabled (283):   0, 0, 0
   libinput Scroll Method Enabled Default (284):   0, 0, 0
libinput Button Scrolling Button (285):   2
libinput Button Scrolling Button Default (286):   274
libinput Middle Emulation Enabled (287):   0
libinput Middle Emulation Enabled Default (288):   0
   Device Node (259):   "/dev/input/event9"
   Device Product ID (260):   1133, 4122
   libinput Drag Lock Buttons (274):   <no items>
libinput Horizonal Scroll Enabled (261):   1

Is it possible, either graphically or from the command line, to adjust the mouse speed?

Speed or resolution?
Logic mouse "speed":
Code: Select all
xset m [acc_mult[/acc_div] [thr]]

eg.
Code: Select all
xset m 25/10 4

to have a 2.5 factor acceleration beyond an 8x8px deadzone (you can also set the related xinput parameters)

For resolution, install and use "lomoco" (requires superuser permissions, ie. sticky bit, pkexec, sudo etc.)

I tried
Code: Select all
xset m 25/10 4

but nothing happened. I tried many different values but the pointer is still moving too fast. Also, I installed lomoco but what I get is
Code: Select all
$ sudo lomoco -s
002.011: 046d:c318 Unsupported Logitech device: Logitech Illuminated Keyboard
002.009: 0424:2504 Not a Logitech device
002.002: 8087:0024 Not a Logitech device
002.001: 1d6b:0002 Not a Logitech device

001.002: 8087:0024 Not a Logitech device
001.001: 1d6b:0002 Not a Logitech device

What else I could try?
