Options in Desktop Theme menu gone with 5.6.3?

Hi,

I'm on Manjaro wth Plasma 5.6.3. I recently updated from 5.5 and noticed that in System Settings > Workspace Theme > Desktop Theme a whole bunch of options has gone missing. Specifically, the "Details" tab at the top, which allowed me to select different themes for different "Theme Items".

One of the simple changes I really liked was to have the panel at the bottom transluscent, along with the menu on the bottom right. Now that seems to have gone. I still have "Customized" listed in my theme options - but how can I change it? How can I customize? Seems no longer an option.

Have these options moved somewhere else, or are they no longer available? And if not available, what is the reason?

I really appreciated this level of customizability before. I thought that was one of KDE's strengths.
There seem to be others asking similar questions on these Forums, but I've seen no answers that explain the recent changes.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the links/replies/explanation of what happened.

I was using those options; they weren't buggy for me - they were the fastest way for me to go from the ugly default Breeze setup to something that looks acceptable. Looks like my options are now to learn how to make my own theme (for which I don't have time) or switch to another desktop environment.

"KDE: Experience a now slighly more more inconvenient and restrictive freedom".

Great.

Or... what am I missing?

It simply is one of math - we have a very very limited amount of devs, very few people from the community helping out meaning that even smaller issues becomes things that soak up time for everyone.

The theme editor didn't work well enough to be included with a good conscience and currently the best method is one where you use the Plasma-SDK package to check, blend and test themes (the Theme Explorer specifically) - granted I too want a better situation where perhaps we could have a "theme creator" as an application or something. But that has to be a future choice and one based on whether there are people enough to do it. Having a Plasma desktop starting, working as expected, systemtray etc is more relevant than the theme editor which is harsh but the truth.

Love sadly is no match against "manpower", "time" and "developer fatigue"

Then why not keep it with a message at the top that says "Some parts of this might be buggy. Use at own risk."
Then users get the options, everyone is clear on what happened, and your conscience is clear.

Also, don't hard sell the customizability if bugs in customizability are likely to lead to features getting removed. Why isn't that a matter of conscience?
In the future, will bugs lead to other things being removed rather than fixed for the same reasons? If so, which ones?

Rule of thumb: Unmaintained bits and pieces will be removed sooner or later - few plasma bits:

- there is now a new maintainer and the khelpcenter will be part of the KDE Applications
