Hello,
So I recently made KDE plasma working and was so happy that it works smoothly and nice finally. BUT today I just wanted to lock the screen by pressing ctrl+alt+L as usually. Nothing happened (that is also usual that I have to press it twice sometimes!) so I pressed is everal more times and still nothing! Then I realized that pressing my keyboard does not have any effect and I cannot click on anything! I could still see all my windows, move the mouse cursor and see animations moving, but it looked like the computer is locked but there was no lockscreen displayed! That is really weird. I switched to a text console and tried to restart the session by doing
DISPLAY=:0 killall plasmashell
DISPLAY=:0 kstart plasmashell
but that did not help. Doing kwin --replace also did nothing. I really hate to reboot my pc with all apps running, but this time I had to do it again :(
How the heck can this happen? I am afraid to lock my screen now.

Ubuntu 16.04, latest KDE, Thinkpad T460 with Intel Skylake.

EDIT: sh*t it happened again just now but differently! The computer went to suspend and when I woke it up I friking cannot click on anything and keyboard does not work except switching to a text console! I really don't know what DE should I use anymore :( Can it be because of VirtualBox running?
An attempt to login via text console ended with "login timed out after 60seconds" WTH??

About system

The KDE is releasing:
- KDE Frameworks
- Plasma desktop
- KDE Applications

The information of the system (Plasma/KDE Frameworks/Qt/Kernel) can be found from the KInfoCenter: https://www.kde.org/applications/system/kinfocenter/

KDE Application version can be found from the application version info tab (Help > About Application > Version).

Even mode information can be found with the inxi: http://smxi.org/docs/inxi.htm

General Troubleshooting

KDE Forums has a general troubleshooting guide: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=38828

Distribution Forums

In the most cases the distribution forums will give the best support for the distribution problems.

It will be easier to read if you

- don't post screenshots of text output. You could pipe the output to the file and then paste the text.

- use 'code' tags when pasting console/log snippets. Please use a pastebin etc when copying large amounts of text.

I have no clue other than that I have once experienced a system frequently having the symptoms you describe (KDE) and it was on my last install when I had also installed and removed nVidia drivers.

The only thing I could do was restart kde by doing "service sddm restart" and nothing else really helped that I am aware of. The graphics driver error is probably not related "unit entered failed state" for udev is a bit weird. Regardless you could try to restart sytemd-udevd (systemctl restart systemd-udevd, for example, to stay with systemd here ;-)). Maybe that would help.

Of course if you restart sddm it will also close all your programs which is why I at first went to Cinnamon and then I just reinstalled my system and I haven't had it since.
