Lockscreen behaviour on laptop

Mon Nov 21, 2016 5:00 pm
I'm experiencing some undesirable behaviour with the KDE lockscreen on a laptop:

- I close the laptop's lid
- Later, I open it. I see the lockscreen (which is what I want),
but for a couple of seconds, I still see the contents of the
desktop behind the lockscreen, at maybe 0.5 opacity,
before the lockscreen completely kicks in.

It's as if closing the lid puts the system to sleep before the lockscreen has a chance to kick in fully, and when I open it back up the lockscreen is still in the process of initializing.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a way to work around it? I don't like being able to see what windows were open before closing the lid, until I type in my password again.
