Hello everybody!
When I assign a keyboard shortcut for the application launcher in the KDE 5 it going to be triggered when the windows-key pressed. I.e., if I assign the Alt+F1 then this combination works wine while the windows-key when pressed cause to the launcher is activated too. If I clear the shortcut then the windows-key is not fire the launcher too. I could accept this strange behaviour if the windows-key, when it is pressed while the virtual machine is foreground, could not fire the KDE launcher, but it could. I.e., when I press the windows-key in the virtual-boxed windows then the windows start menu is triggered and the KDE's launcher is foregrounded. |

You can disable the Windows key in ~/.config/kwinrc.
Add this to ~/.config/kwinrc:
(if the [ModiferOnlyShortcuts] section already exists, just add/modify the Meta line accordingly) You can also achieve this by running:

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. This will not disable the Windows key completely, it will just disable kwin opening the application menu when you press the Windows key. In other words, exactly what you want AIUI. |

while I still do not understand what the O.P. tried to say, I realized there is a minor issue in plasmashell:
Alt-F1 is the usual shortcut for KMenu. Also the Windows-key will do the same opening of the main K-menu. If the shortcut Alt-F1 is cleared, also the windows-key will ("implicitly") no longer open the KMenu. Users might be surprised about the inactive windows-key then, as they intended to repurpose the Alt-F1 combo ONLY. |
