Hi,

I have such problem. On my one account I use KDE (stable), but I need another accounts just for kid.

I've created a fresh account, where is just .xinitrc file, then startx... and Plasma failed to start.

I could see a mouse pointer and window witch such message:
https://s23.postimg.org/vs9jrnxff/plasma.jpg

I cannot run KDE on any other account, just on the first one. Are there any restrictions to use KDE on multiple accounts? Or maybe there is another problem?

I use nvidia Optimus and other accounts works fine when OpenGL is switched into xorg-x11. I use 5.8.3-r4 version of Plasma.

I think you need to add that new user to video group, it seems that Plasma is unable to use GPU acceleration.

Try:
sudo gpasswd -a your_user video

Thank. This was the problem, but I am 99% sure, I did this time ago.
