KDE file dialogs under GNOME?

Fri Jul 28, 2017 6:51 am
Hi there!

I hope this is the right place to ask.

As the topic says, I'm mostly using GNOME (please don't be mad at me) but for development kate is my favourite.

With the jump to qt5 all file dialogs are now the native ones, means under GNOME qt5 apps are using the GTK dialogs.

I've recompiled qt5gui without gtk support which at least brings back qt5 dialogs now but the thing is, I need the KDE dialogs for the KIO system.

Does anyone have an idea how this can be achieved?

Thanks a lot!

For kate you can currently I think do
Code: Select all
QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=kde kate

and you will get the kde dialogs. This is unfortunately not a general or supported solution, though.

I'm working on the KDevelop IDE.

Well, I got it.

You were totally right!

I was missing some plasma tools and now it works.

Thanks again!
