Hi - I'm a new KDE user with a rather obscure question:
I use emacs in a modified "EDT" mode (yes, I'm that old - EDT was a DEC editor from the 80s). EDT requires enabling the application keypad and use of the "num_lock" key. I use .xmodmap in the terminal window to swap Num_lock and F11 keys, and tell emacs to use F11 as num_lock (necessary, as impossible to get emacs to detect num_lock directly). All works great - except for a KDE quirk - when the actual num-Lock key is held down, the keypad is forced out of application mode until the num_lock key is released. This, for a keysequence like "GOLD (num_lock) -2", if I press the 2 before i release the num_lock, I get the behavior of having pressed the regular "2" key. Does anyone know how to disable this behavior? thanks! /j 2nd question - a minor one - Is there any way to make KDE emulate windows single-click/double-click behavior? I'm too used to double-clicking on an app....8-{ |

Sorry, cannot help with the first question but for the second yes. You can change the behavior: System Settings -> [General Tab] Keyboard & Mouse -> Mouse -> choose "Double-click to open files and folders (select icons on first click)" and -> Apply
