Volume menu empty

Wed Jan 24, 2018 2:02 pm
Hello everyone, after a while the Win7 Volume Mixerhttps://store.kde.org/p/1100894/ widget has stopped working and now nothing appears in the preferences volume window.

I hope someone can help me, thank you in advance.
Or is there a way to reset the audio?

UPDATE:

After seeing this post https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=309&t=150662, I installed pavucontrol and now the menu appears, but the test audio does not work.
lspci -k shows:

Another thing that can help is that pulseaudio shows:
E: [pulseaudio] pid.c: Daemon already running.
E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Failed pa_pid_file_create().
There is no other pulseaudio running, I killed it with pulseaudio -k until it doesn't find the service to stop and then I start it with pulseaudio --start and it still shows the same thing.

Have you tried another audio widget just to double check it is not the widget itself?

Yes, I tried the default KDE audio widget and it's still the same.

Okay, my thoughts may be absolutely useless as I don't know Neon and don't recognise your screenshot but it appears to be systemsettings you're in - correct? And after having installed pavucontrol the audio section is not empty any more.

Can you run alsamixer from the command line and make sure that the correct sound card is selected?
