I'm using Kubuntu and the default music player is Cantata, it's been working fine.

A recent system update to some display drivers broke my desktop. In the fallout of fixing that problem global keyboard shortcuts no longer work for Cantata (using a multimedia keyboard).

I have got the play/pause button to work but ONLY if the Cantata window has the focus.

Also the plasma media player widget no longer recognises Cantata as the media player - which is probably where the problem lies.

Any suggestions how to fix this?
