I've configured it using Powerdevil, but so far no good. It was working fine for a while after my new installation. I was hardening my Arch system, and then one day it stopped working.
Output of acpi-listen:
Code: Select all
button/power PBTN 00000080 00000000
button/power LNXPWRBN:00 00000080 00000001

I checked /etc/systemd/logind.conf and all the options are commented out.
I also do not have acpi installed.
I'm not using any input helpers.
Key press does register in xev:

Code: Select all
KeyRelease event, serial 41, synthetic NO, window 0x4c00001,
    root 0x16a, subw 0x0, time 16808568, (-386,3), root:(316,811),
    state 0x2000, keycode 124 (keysym 0x1008ff2a, XF86PowerOff), same_screen YES,
    XLookupString gives 0 bytes:
    XFilterEvent returns: False

Output of journalctl -n 10
Code: Select all

In the Power Management settings in System Settings, there should be an option for specifying what happens when the power button is pushed.

Of course I know about that. The problem is that isn't working, no matter what I set it to. The lid switch works perfectly fine though.
