What happened with the font antialiasing in KDE?

It was great and sharp (16.04):

but at some point after some update, it gets blurish (18.04):

I tried all possible configuration of font antialiasing settings without any result: any text now looks thick and blurish.

Is there any way to fix this bug and to get a nice and sharp antialiasing back?
Or it is a new 'better', 'improved' antialiasing??
