Hi,
Hopefully i'm in the right section to ask my question if not please point me to the right direction. I'm a beginner in linux. I'm trying to bind a global shortcuts (alft +F4 to close a window or ctrl+F9 to open a windows overview) to a mouse gestures but nothing happens. Gestures are working in applications (dolphin, firefox, etc.) Gestures are working to activate terminal commands such as (shutdown, firefox, etc.) I'm sure i' am missing something here like a checking a setting for the mouse gestures to work globally. Could someone please help me find a solution to be able to bind global shortcuts to mouse gestures? |

In System Settings -> Shortcuts -> Custom Shortcuts and ensure that Gestures is checked. In there you'll also see what mouse button is configured to trigger gestures: 2=middle, 3=right, 4+ for additional buttons your mouse may have.
Assuming that is working, you should be able to create custom mouse gestures (in Custom Shortcuts) which you should be able to bind to keyboard shortcuts or specific commands to your liking (though perhaps not directly to a global shortcut, though in general there should be a corresponding DBus command for each of those actions).

Thank you for your help !
It's working! I've used commands i've found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/7pftu0/terminal_commands_to_access_kwin_effects/ Pasting this command in the terminal will give a list of command shortcuts: -To list all shortcutNames:
When you have found the shortcut you need, you replace in the command bellow "shortcutname" by the command you have found. -To call a shortcutName:
EXEMPLE: I wanted to use a mouse gesture to call a window presentation/overview (task view in windows,expose/mission control in osx). 1- I have opened a terminal and pasted this command:
Ii've scrolled down the list, found the shortcut name : Expose 2- I added this shortcut (Expose) name to replace "shortcutNames" at the end of the second command like this:
3- Opened system settings > Shortcuts > Custom shortcuts > New Mouse Gesture Action > Command/Url > then copy the command command into the Action tab > Command/URL. Here's the command to close windows (don't forget the quotation marks) "Shortcutnames"
