Hi,
I have a strange problem with a pure QT application.

When I run this application in KDE/Plasma desktop it does not correctly remember changes in options that are checked or unchecked in certain windows of the user interface. When I logout and login again, but this time in an XFCE session, the program behaves as expected. So it seems that KDE/Plasma is interfering in some way with this application.

What does it do to QT apps? Is there a generic method to start an application in such a way that it will ignore the KDE session and act like it was started as a standalone QT application?

The application is opentx companion version 2.2.3 installed from the debian package here
I filed a bug report for the application but one of the developers told me they will be not be likely to solve the problem.

My system: Kubuntu 18:10, KDE plasma 5.13.5, KDE framework 5.50.0. QT version 5.11.1
