No "GMT" entry in 'Digital Clock'

Tue May 28, 2019 3:10 am
I'm trying to add the 'GMT' time zone to my clock but when I search the time zones in its settings, there's no 'GMT' entry found.

Then I tried to add London, thinking that's where Greenwich is, but its off.

What do you mean by "it's off", it shows the correct time for me, and I am in GMT+1

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Exactly, I'm aiming for GMT +/- 0 & I get what you have with the off by 1.

I don't think so, I have both my time (GMT+1) and the London (GMT) time showing correctly, daylight saving should not affect the display. Of course, both the UK and Germany use Summer time currently, so nothing is really off as both are the current official time schemes in these countries.

If London is correct, maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Here's what I have now. Does that look right?

Okay, so it's operator error then. I feel silly but this is a step in the right direction.

I thought Google told me GMT was London. Sorry to bother everyone with my error here...
Thanks for helping.

I Googled again & took more time to read what it was returning. Apparently GMT is London in winter & in Reykjavik now. So I changed to Reykjavik & now I have this, https://files.catbox.moe/dqhbek.png

Which appears to be offset an hour in what I'm assuming is the right direction to display proper GMT in my tooltip.

HM, GMT is short for "Greenwich Mean Time", so London is always GMT, what changes is the UTC offset when using Summer time, so currently this would be GMT/UTC+1, no? Apparently they managed to add to the confusion and introduced what is called BST = "British Summer Time", see also https://www.timeanddate.com/time/gmt-utc-time.html
