hello all,

i'm a recent refugee from Gnome giving KDE a try!

I was in the process of installing the KDE Materia along with Latte Dock, which I installed through the Manjaro package manager. After enabling Latte Dock, it was appearing on top of the existing task manager/application bar (not sure the exact term). I removed all of those widgets down on the bottom. After doing that, I had all kinds of new problems:

1. The windows / meta key is now unbound from launching the applcation launcher / multi tasking view. I tried rebinding the windows key in System Settings -> Shortcuts, but it seems to be impossible to bind anything to just the window key, and even if I could, I am not sure what the appropriate shortcut to bind to it.
2. I added a new bar at the top of the screen with an application launcher, but it lacks the Materia theme icon that was on the previous bar I removed. instead it is showing a small KDE icon, but when I open Configure Application Launcher, it shows that the Material Design icon is the icon.
3. Alt - Tab doesn't allow me to switch between application windows anymore
4. Is it better to install Latte as a plasmoid or its own application?

1. that question being frequently asked appears on Latte Dock's FAQ page
2. I'm not sure what's going on there. Perhaps reboot?
3. Double-check the settings in System Settings -> Window Management -> Task Switcher
4. I think the Latte plasmoid is primarily designed to work with the Latte panel - replacing the plasma panels entirely; however the widget should be sufficiently usable on the default plasma panel.

I've had mixed results with Latte. It's pretty cool with a lot of bells and whistles and stuff, but find the customization a bit too cumbersome, and at least for work still prefer the feel of the default plasma panel.
