KDE: 4.14.8

Hello,

I need to chance the "Service Preference Order" for "application/xml".

For one user this can simply achieved by using the GUI (file associations | application/xml | embedding )
and move prefered service up on top

In ~/.local.kde4/share/applications/mimeapps.list I got one entry now this entry:
[Added KDE Service Associations]
application/xml=katepart.desktop;khtml.desktop;
This is the wanted order.

But how can I override this file association for all users?
From the docs I have read, e.g:
https://help.gnome.org/admin/system-adm ... on.html.en
I assume to create a mimeapps.list in /etc/xdg.
I need help for the correct syntax.
Thank you!

has reached EOL. You should upgrade your distro (if possible)

The cross-desktop specs for the mime apps can be found on the freedesktop specifications site, which includes information about the relevant file locations and format.

As I recall, a number of changes were made in KDE 5 libraries and apps to align to more of the freedesktop standard, including switching to use the $XDG_* environment variables for config file locations and things. However, I believe that in KDE 4, but the directories and everything should be the same or similar. At the very least, you should be able to start by copying a user's mimeapps.list into /etc/xdg/ and modifying it from there.

Thank you for your reply.
Nevertheless, my problem requires a global solution.
The default behavior for type xml for "Left Click Action in Konqueror" is always 'KHTML (khtml)'.
It would be a great help to know where this is read.
Nowhere I found this "standard" settings!
I want to change these default settings for the entire system in the Embedded Advanced Text Editor (katepart)
without using the graphical menu File Associations - KDE Control Modul.
So far I have not found a solution.
Thanks again for your help
