Hello,
Only a few special cases have this issue. When I press print screen to open Spectacle, it's a white "unthemed" window. The title bar is Breeze Dark, but the contents are not. File upload/picker dialogues are the same way. KDE Wallet login alerts also do the same thing. A similar thing happens when opening Dolphin through Firefox. The theme is very broken in this instance, with an odd mix of light/dark. The above examples are not like this. Here's an image: ![]() I'm currently using Fedora 31, however this issue began when I upgraded to Fedora 30. |

Hi,
have you installed any graphic card drivers?, that may be the reason for the odd display?. ![]()

Yeah, I've been running this setup for over a year. Fedora 29 did not have this issue. The screenshot only happens when I open Dolphin via Firefox (Downloads > open containing folder). Spectacle, the KDE Wallet popup, and file picker dialogues are simply un-themed, but still display "normally". It looks like the Breeze light for those. I'm running: Fedora 31 Mesa 19.2.0 Plasma 5.16.5 |

Does it only happen on Breeze themes?, have you tried a different theme to see if the effects are the same?.

Yes even with non-Breeze options it appears much the same.
Changing the Application Style before/after launching Spectacle/Dolphin makes no difference. They seem completely unaffected. Window decorations work fine. Changing the color scheme doesn't impact Spectacle at all. Dolphin via Firefox still has the inconsistent theme, but the dark colors from the picture are changed to the even darker theme's colors. |

You could try running a Live CD to test the behaviour and see if it is possibly related to an update. What GPU do you have?.

I have an AMD 580x. I did run "rpm -Va", which checks the integrity of installed packages. Nothing related to KDE or Plasma.
I asked a buddy who also runs Fedora (he's still on 30). He gets the same issue: Spectacle is not themed and Dolphin via Firefox is borked. He has a AMD 270x. |

As you both have AMD GPU's, it might well be a driver issue, have a look at the following link which may help?:

I seriously doubt it's driver related. I've used many driver versions, from Mesa 18, to Mesa 19.3. I've also had Valve's experimental ACO driver. I also cannot install the proprietary AMD driver on Fedora without downgrading many packages. The open source driver is the only way to go on Fedora!

I am out of ideas, I can only see either downgrading your drivers like you said or try a different theme, I don't have anything else for you sorry.

I appreciate the help, and I'm trying not to sound ungrateful. It's not a driver issue: I've used a massive range of driver versions. I've also seen driver issues before, and they don't look like this. Another indicator is Dolphin works by itself. It's not a theme issue either: Changing themes had no effect.
I did fix Dolphin via Firefox. I opened the system monitor and checked what command Firefox was giving to launch Dolphin. There were actually two processes. One was "dolphin --daemon" and the other "dolphin [Folder Path]". After some research on "dolphin --daemon", I learned it came from: /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.kde.dolphin.FileManager1.service I opened up the file and commented out the Exec line, and restarted Waterfox. Bam, no more second process, and most importantly it now looks perfect. So that had me curious about Spectacle. I pressed print screen to launch it, and checked the command: spectacle --dbus The same command is used when I open it from the applications menu. I opened the terminal and tried the command minus the dbus argument. Voila, it themed correctly. I opened up the Custom Shortcuts menu and disabled the Dbus shortcuts for Spectacle. I then created global shortcuts that launch Spectacle directly. Now it works just fine (altho if I hold down Print Screen it will create multiple instances.) The real question is: Why aren't programs opened with the Dbus themed correctly? |

Glad you got it fixed, I have no clue about dbus so cannot help you there. ![]()
