Hi

I've set up a minimal desktop on Centos 8 using openbox, konsole, kate and dolphin using the following commands:

Command Line : install xorg-x11-server-Xorg xorg-x11-drv-libinput xterm xorg-x11-xinit epel-release dbus-x11
Command Line : install openbox konsole kate dolphin

The apps are working fine but when I exit Kate or Dophin, I see a SEGFAULT in the system log.

I'm guessing the dependencies didn't pull in a necessary package.

Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this ?

A similar setup on Ubuntu Eoan runs without issue.

Since it seems to run fine for you in Ubuntu, it probably has to do with how CentOS packages things. I'd suggest asking over in the CentOS forums: https://forums.centos.org/
