Hey everyone,

I just got a docking station for my laptop (with kde neon 5.17), so I can use two external screens. It works perfectly fine, except when I'm unplugging my laptop from the docking station, the task manager doesnt show any entries at all. I tried several things, but the only way to fix that was logging out and in again :/

Changing the settings, so that the task manager shows icons from all screens would work, but I don't want that when using 2 external screens.

Is there any way to change panel settings depending on the screen arrangement, or a way to fix the issue where the task manager is not showing any entries after removing my external screens?

Screenshots:

Two external screens and laptop screen works perfectly fine:

But then, after removing the laptop from the docking station, all entries from the task manager are gone (even entries that were on the main screen before, and also when I open new applications they wont appear):

When I log-out and in again, the task manager works perfectly fine again.

Does anyone of you know how to fix that or is there a workaround? Thanks in advance :)

I have the same issue, was already searching for solution/workaround/... or at least info WHICH part of the system is responsible for that, so I could fill a bug report.... is it KDE as a base, is it Plasma, is it Panel logic, is it Task Manager Widget,....
This issue is present at least since I started using Kubuntu at version 18.04 (and still on 20.10, with KDE Plasma 5.19.5).
This is very problematic especially at times of meetings, when I disconnect Dock and take laptop with me... with broken taskbar.
