Hello,
Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong section. It's hard to define which piece of software causes my problem. When I eject a DVD or an audio CD with data (using either the removable device icon, the "eject" command or the tray button), the tray closes by itself one second after being opened. It doesn't happen with a pure audio CD. The following tests make me think this bug could be related to KDE : - It occurs in KDE Neon 5.17 which has a Ubuntu 18.04 base. - It also occurs with the Debian 10 amd64 KDE liveCD (different base, same DE). - It doesn't occur with the Xubuntu 18.04 liveCD (same base, different DE). If it can help, here are the 2 last lines of dmesg :
The same kind of messages occur with different DVDs but the numbers (sector, block) are different. I wanted to fill a bug report but I don't know what software section I should choose so I prefer asking here first. |

Is there one or more applications open that would try to access the CD tray when you eject it? One reason I could imagine would be Dolphin open on the actual Data disk.
FWIW: "related to KDE" is a tad vague, as KDE is a community, the desktop is called Plasma, and the individual applications also have names, so which application do you use to trigger the "eject" action?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
