Hi, I'm new here. I just installed Kubuntu 20.04 and I was playing around with new global theme settings. I installed a new theme and would like to know if there is a way of removing the theme. I tried to uninstall it, but it's still there. There isn't an X to be found to uninstall it.

The Breeze Global Theme is built into Plasma, you can't remove it. No need to, really, just apply the one you prefer.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

hello in this route the global themes are saved |

Which doesn't mean you can/should remove the Breeze theme, it is integral part of Plasma and not meant to be removed. FWIW, this folder contains all downloaded themes and a json file which lists the installed themes. I suggest you do NOT modify these entries unless there is a compelling reason to do so...

I have more or less the same question. I installed 2 Windows like global themes out of curiosity. Now I cannot get rid of them through " system settings ". How do we do that ?

You can remove any Plasma Theme installed afterwards: switch to a built-in theme like Breeze, then remove the new ones:
In System Settings -> Appearance -> Global Theme -> Get new Global Themes, then filter to show the installed ones only and choose the one you want to remove.

Thanks @Mamarok , I tried that. But the list looks empty with that filter, but themes are there

This is weird indeed, the additionally installed ones didn't show at first, only after reinstalling them they show up twice with the "Installed only" filter and I could remove them. Looks like a bug to me.

Thanks @Mamarok
I tried the install again and then delete option will appear solution. Sadly there is no listing at all in the " Get new global themes " option. Please see https://imgur.com/K1nX3f1 But I did see the uninstall button in " Get new global themes " option just after installing. But nothing happens when I click the uninstall button. Then the whole thing appeared broken ( mildly ) as in some broken images. Then I shut down the system and started again and I got what is listed in the beginning of this post ( ie, no entries or delete option). |

I have exactly the same problem using Kubuntu 20.04.
When I've been using Kubuntu 18.04 I didn't encounter this problem at all. |

Everyone, please, subscribe to the bug report if you want to follow the evolution of this bug (see above). It is pretty pointless to comment "same problem here" at all, we know there is a bug, and it only takes up the moderators' time.

Unfortunately, nothing changed there since 2019... |
