I am running KDE Neon on a Dell XPS 9550 and works just fine.

I have an issue with the mouse being jerky or sticky which is very annoying to unusable. The inbuild track pad works fine.

Any ideas?

Can't reproduce this on my system, using a Logitech MX Master. Make sure you have nothing in the way between mouse and dongle, especially liquids (e.g. water bottle) can cause problems. Of course this could also be a hardware issue...
