How to know the KDE Plasma version number at this moment? Main menu of most window, Help -> about KDE is:
not informing us such. Thanks before. |

Well, KDE is the community, after all so this is accurate
Also, these applications can run without Plasma, so showing this version may not really be useful on an application-level basis, I imagine. Just guessing here, to be sure.

FWIW: the current Plasma version is visible in KHelpCenter, or by asking
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Hi,
I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to find out the answer to this simple question. Why this little info is not included in the Help/about kde I do not know. Why people have to chnage/ignore long-held traditions is beyond me. A complete nuisance. Thank you Mamarok. However, can you tell the kids behind developing this thing to stop messing about, please? |

Well, I don't know where you have been looking for this information as every «About [program]» has a Version itself and displays the Libraries in the tab named «Libraries» it uses.
The desktop itself has the kinfocenter (if installed) which can be called using `kcmshell5 about-distro` or by typing «inf cen» in your KRunner which depends on your distribution. The KDE Community are people, so they won't have a number as humans currently aren't updatable. Wait for Elon Musk to change this Perhaps the KDE Community can add all registered user birthdays as unix timestamps once a month and use this as version number for it |
