Hi,
i'm trying to improve the time computer needs to be ready to work. For some people it can funny, but when you start/shutdown computer several times a day, you can appreciate when it's fast. I have 1 laptop and 1 desktop computer. Both use Ubuntu 20.10 with KDE 5.20 as DE. To improve boot time i replace HDD booting disk by SSD. This reduce by 4 my booting time. Next step i checked with systemd-analyze how it is:
However, once i log in on desktop, I need to wait 45/60s (at least) to have plasma KDE desktop ready to use (so to appear and be usable). I do not have this issue on laptop. What can i do to check the bottleneck place ? The systemd-analyze blame does not show a particular long process, how can i find what's going on ? thx
Kubuntu 22.04 / kernel 5.15.x
KDE 5.24.5 / KDE framework: 5.95 / Qt version: 5.15.3 |

There is a boot.log file in /var/log/ that should help finding the issue, could it be that the desktop is trying to access some remote devices or does it try to start a virtual box?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

I have the same issue, everytime i login the system freeze up for about 20-30 seconds as soon as wallpaper and bars appears on the screen. Then everything goes back to normal. I thought that was an issue with my nvidia graphic card. I checked in the /var/log and i found a bunch of files and directories. The only file log created after the login is a Xorg0.log file which is long as hell. As a new linux user i don't really understand what could cause the problem. Here my output anyway:

There is something wrong in your SDDM configuration apparently, so what did you change from the default installation? It relies on a file which can't be found anymore...

The only changes I do is from GUI and system settings (download and install themes from discover and kde store). Never applied weird scripts or anything. I checked in that folder and inside there is a file named {99771f6f-1f7b-44c5-b5f5-38647161f720 and the locked symbol next to it. Thank you very much for your help! |

Following another topic that looks similar to my problem
viewtopic.php?f=66&t=169918 I run journalctl -b -xep 0..4 on terminal here's the output:
If my issue is caused by my SSDM configuration then i guess the first three lines are the culprit
